SOUTHERN AFRICA IS CLOSER THAN EVER
WITH SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS’ NEW,
LOWER AND MORE FLEXIBLE FARES
New Fares Make Flights to Southern Africa More Affordable for the Everyday Traveler
Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 18, 2007) – South African Airways (SAA), voted “Leading Airline to Africa” and “Leading Business Class to Africa” by the World Travel Awards, announced new, lower and more flexible fares that bring Southern Africa closer and make it more affordable than ever for the North American traveler.
The new fares make it easier for travelers to access flights from more than 30 cities in the U.S. to more than 25 destinations in Southern Africa through SAA’s service from New York JFK and Washington Dulles to Johannesburg, and feature simpler rules that allow for a 3-day minimum stay and maximum 12-month stay. For example, service from New York or Washington, D.C., to Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Durban in South Africa starts as low as $1,100 round trip for travel during the Fall months.
“This new fare structure makes it easier and more affordable for North American travelers to access Southern Africa and all of its wonders, whether it’s the experience of the Cape Town winelands and Table Mountain, the rush of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, or the expansive desert and sand dunes of Namibia,” said Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president, North America for South African Airways. “Coupled with South African Airways’ award-winning service, our membership in the Star Alliance, and the fact that we know Africa better than any other airline, there simply is no better way to and from the continent.”
South African Airways features the only nonstop service from the U.S. to South Africa with daily departures from Washington, D.C., and daily direct service from New York that offer travel convenience and award-winning service. SAA’s unrivaled network, featuring connections to more than 25 destinations within Southern Africa, and across the continent, make the airline the savvy traveler’s “gateway to Africa.” As a member to the worldwide Star Alliance, South African Airways is able to offer its customers 855 destinations in 155 countries and more than 16,000 flights daily, including convenient connections from more than 30 cities in the U.S. through code share service with Star Alliance partner United Airlines.
